Florida goes to Obama

Florida was one of the closest races of this election, and for the whole night it was too close to call. Obama came out the winner proving that the polls are not definite. This was supposed to be a really close race. The factor that made the difference in Florida was the large minority population.

Florida voters are worried about economy

Florida has a top ten foreclosure rating and is above the national unemployment average, according to nytimes.com. This is what the Florida voters are looking at, and what the candidates were trying to focus on. The candidates were also pushing for the support of the elderly and the support of the large Hispanic demographic in Florida.

Obama takes Florida

I feel that President Barack Obama will take Florida. Minorities are often not taken into account when the polls are taken which can swing the close race in favor of Obama. The Presidential race will be close, but i think that the president will sneak out with a win.

Florida’s ad war

According to CNN.com, Florida has been more of a focal point for ads in any swing state. Both President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Romney have spent more money here than any other state, with the next closest being Ohio. The ads have been consistent in targeting seniors with medicare and the middle class. Obama has spent more money on ads, but his party has held less events there.

Florida papers split on endorsements

The major papers in Florida are split on presidential endorsements with three papers backing Romney and two backing President Obama.

After Obama’s four-to-one take over of the newspaper endorsements, it is a surprise to see Romney having such a big impact and doing so well within the states media.

Newspapers stay true to toss up election.

Most swings states major papers are either split or choosing not endorse a candidates.

This election has been a toss up all the way and the results of these major papers refusing to endorse candidates just attest to that.

Many of these papers had supported President Obama or Senator McCain and are even flip flopping this election.

Obama down, but not out in Florida

The Florida polls, according to www.realclearpolitics.com, have former Massachusetts Gov. Romney with a slight lead. Many state officials, such as Anitere Flores, a state Senator, have acknowledged this, but don’t feel Romney has Florida just yet.

Republicans are outnumbered by Democrats close to 500,000. Also during President Barack Obama’s four years as president, the minority numbers have increased in Florida. Both of these figures favor Obama. Although, Romney does seems to have a solid amount of popularity among people from all of the yard signs all over Florida in his support. Florida with its 29 electoral votes is definitely a prize both candidates will be fighting for.
