Nevadan Asian Vote May Swing Election

According to Rep. Mike Honda, the Asian American and Pacific Islander vote will determine the presidential election. Because of President Barack Obama’s Hawaiian upbringing, he can be considered our first Asian-American president instead of only our first African American president. Obama will likely have the Nevadan Asian population vote because of that. Nevadan AAPI’s can give Obama a 9,000 vote margin of victory over Gov. Mitt Romney in the state said Rep. Mike Honda.

Romney Campaigning Hard In Nevada

President Barack Obama won Nevada in the 2008 presidential election, garnering 55 percent of the votes, but that advantage is not stopping Gov. Mitt Romney’s campaign.“People are trying to write Gov. Romney’s obituary in Nevada, but there are legitimate pathways to victory for him here,” Chris Carr, Romney’s state manager, said according to NPR.org.

NPR.org added that the Romney campaign has put together a “Team Nevada” banner and is attempting to sway more Latino voters than ever before.

Today, both Romney and Obama will be in Nevada for their campaign. Politico.com’s candidate tracker has Romney in Reno hosting a rally tonight. NewsOK.com reports that Obama will be in Las Vegas for his 10th time this year hosting a rally in which pop artist Katy Perry will be performing at.
